Asbestos Surveys

Management Asbestos Surveys (Formerly Type 2 Surveys)

This type of asbestos survey inspection will assist property freeholders, leaseholders including individuals or companies buying or selling residential or commercial property. We undertake asbestos management surveys & Refurbishment/Demolition surveys in Reading and the surrounding Berkshire Towns.

Refurbishment and Demolition Asbestos Surveys (Formerly Type 3 Surveys)

Prior to refurbishment or demolition an RD asbestos survey will be required in order to locate any asbestos materials which may be disturbed. All properties are included within this legal requirement. We carryout refurbishment and demolition asbestos surveys Reading, Newbury, Maidenhead & Slough, but also all rural areas within these catchments.

Asbestos Testing

Lead Paint Surveys and Assessments

Properties prior to 1984 have the potential to contain lead based paints. There is currently no minimum safe level of lead in paint within the Lead regulations in the UK.

Anthrax and Horse Hair Surveys

Anthrax surveys and testing is a particular consideration to those involved in refurbishment and demolition or increasingly in insurance claims associated with fire or escapement of water. We are currently undertaking several dozen inspections for the presence of anthrax in period plaster within the Berkshire area.

VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) Testing

VOC’s refer to a group of chemicals associated with older building products, especially within older floor coverings and adhesives.

Formaldehyde Testing

Older building materials from the 1960’s to the 1990’s may contain formaldehyde.

PCBs (Polychlorinated Biphenyls) Testing

PCB’s were particularly prevalent within products and equipment associated with the manufacturing industry.
